Artist's Comments

This is an old and extremely emotional sketch thingy.
Despite its unpolished-ness and lack of skill, I like it because I think it really shows how I felt at the time. The unpolished-ness and lack of skill puts this in my scrap folder though ^_^;;

It’s done in regular ol’ mechanical pencil and another one with a neato red lead inside.

I like the line work, and the sketchyness.
It looks nice, I think you should continue with it! and take it from a sketch to a finished piece!
I would like to do emotional work ~_~ I'm not every good at it....

There are some interesting organic shapes in this piece. I like the lines that make up the figure on the left, really nice Bold crisp lines, has a real feeling of energy to it.

For some reason I think some force perspective could really give this piece and nice feel to it... but thats just me... and I usally don't do perspective in my own work.

Well you know perspective right? how all things go to a vanishing point in the horizon, and thats what gives a 2 dimensional drawing, appear to be 3 dimensional.
Well you take that same princple of perspective, but you put it in a dramatic angle. Its hard for me to explain. I could better explain if I could show you.
um... thinking of examples... thinking of examples....

um, think of a using a camera I guess, your going to take a pictures of some object. Well instead of just taking a picture of the object staight on... you postion your camera under the object, or below the object. So that you get a dramatic feel to the picture. Thats forced perpective, its puting the camera/viewer in an interesting viewing postion.
They use it in movies (we talked about this in my storyboarding class) if the camera is below a character it gives a sense of power.
I hope this works... ~_~
